What are worm castings?
While it may sound rather bizarre, there has been a significant increase in the popularity of worm farms over the last few years as more and more people begin to appreciate the benefits of worm farms, worm farming and worm castings. But what exactly is a worm cast and what are the benefits?
In simple terms worm castings are the waste which passes through the body of worms such as red wigglers, white worms and earthworms. It is the opportunity to use waste food and waste vegetable matter for worm farming which makes it so valuable and beneficial to the environment. In effect the worms in the worm farm will eat their way through the waste material around them and create worm castings, worm humus or worm manure which is perfect for the garden!
It is well known that worm castings contain excellent water-soluble nutrients and bacteria and are highly nutrient rich and the perfect organic fertiliser for your garden. It will increase the yield from any garden as it encourages growth in plants and plant life.

More people are now looking to use worm farms as a way to recycle waste food and waste vegetable materials in order to create natural, organic and excellent fertiliser for their gardens.
